The speculation surrounding the Mitsubishi Evo seems to suggest that the next model is going to be a diesel hybrid. The main source of these rumours seems to be the highly respected Autocar who are claiming to have insider information about their claim. The belief of the manufacturers of the next generation Evo is that the car could just take a speedy 45 seconds to get to sixty miles per hour! Another important feature of this car is the fact that it is expected to produce CO2 emissions of less than 200gms per kilometre, and for the future which looks set to insist on low emissions, this is very important.
There will only be fifty horsepower provided by the electric motor and this will all be directed to the wheels at the front of the vehicle. The rest of the power, 300 horse power, comes from the diesel engine and it is this that help the car accelerate so fast. However it should be pointed out the main aim of this car is not to provide speed but rather to provide a fuel efficient car – the Mitsubishi Evo will not compromise on driving experience but will be an extremely fuel efficient motor.
There are plenty of people out there these days who are looking for a top quality hybrid and the Mitsubishi Evo is going to be just that. And although official sources have yet to say anything, many in the industry already are taking this as fact. It really does sound very interesting and I for one am excited to see the real thing. We will probably be hearing a lot more about this car before the launch date which is not expected to be until at least 2013.
Advances in technology nowadays continue to astound. And the automobile industry bears testament to this statement. And you only have to look at the advancement in electric cars. With far reaching advances in electric vehiclesfor example like compact crossover to name only a very small number.
